I'm looking for experienced users of HANNA HI 9829 Multiparameter Water Analysis Meter, who can tell me about maintenance effort and lifetime of this measurement tool.
I not use Hanna instruments only Haach sonde. But in the specification this type of sonde I saw that oxygen is measured by membran cup as a galvanic sonde, ( from time to time you must change membran) . It is not practical than instruments with optical sensors, with quick reaction and stable results - not flowing data ... For your if you want to analyse springs water ( some of them have a small discharge) I suggest to use single sensor for determinated parameter. In some springs a different waters layers are mixed and in outflow you have a mean " values". I 've observed this situation in the case of conductivity and oxygen in some springs on quaternary sediments, in upland or mountain is a rare occurence.
actually, the life time of every instrument depends on how to use and save. it is very important to protect your instrument from rain, water,...., and save it in suitable place at suitable temperature.
