Our boys in combinatorial chemistry routinely use such centrifuges to remove e.g. HCL or TFA.

If you use a vacuum centrifuge, you have to be careful, since all the HCl will be in your centrifuge and maybe also in the pump (if not condensed before). So corrosion or damage can occur in your centrifuge and tubes...

I usually evaporate the HCl after protein hydrolysis by placing the GC glass vials (where I perform hydrolysis) in a water batch (~60°C) and by applying a gentle stream of nitrogen.

Unfortunatly the Speedvac in our lab is not built for acids.

Benedikt Engel how do you set up the nitrogen? Is it just a stream or real nitrogen atmosphere? Do you have a special apparatus or do you tinker something?

We have a nitrogen bottle standing next to the hood. A flexible tube is connected with the nitrogen bottle and a "Schlenk tube" with six outlets, so we can evaporate 6 samples at onces...

Unfortunately I cannot find the company where we ordered this or how it is called correctly.... we have it for a long time...

generally it is a plastic block with 6 metal tubes (outlets) with a connection to the big bottle.....

Hello, if you have nitrogen steam evaporator it also applicable. Just put the system in to flow hood for safety.
