Are there any practical example(s) of Denbigh reaction network or is this just a theoretical possibility?

The Denbigh reaction is of the form Xn –> Xn+1 + Yn+1, where Y is a terminal product and X is a product that can continue to react. That is, at each step the reaction produces two products, one that can continue to react and one that is inert. One example is chain polymerization, where Y is a live polymer and X is a terminated chain.
