I'm looking for a big data that is generated from IoT system and analyze it with Hadoop. I tried to find online some IoT sample big data or API that allow me to retrieve IoT data but I could not find any. If you know any, please let me know. So I think the I'm only left with one option which is to simulate an IoT and let it run to create dummy data.

Maybe I cant fully understand question. But if you mean to simulate some system from which you can collect data. I would create simple web service, than you can tune your ETL script.
Or
You can generate your data. If you have small amount of data, you increase their count with montecarlo simulation. Please, describe more data what you need ;) Sounds interesting.

go to a factory, a bank or a company, ask for it now. you can't just depend on dummy data and assume everything will be ok, it will not be ok and your hypothesis can't stand a nail too...you must come out of your comfort zone and venture into the unknown, asking for resources at university, at circle of entrepreneurs, write in, walk in, email in and do everything to get it done. Interesting question. Many researchers are working on IoT and finding a right simulator may not be easy tasks. We need to clarify which aspect of IoT we are simulating. Are uwe simulating IoT routing or architecture MAC-Layer protocols?
