I'm looking for information on prehistoric hominid tools. If you happen to have any photographs to compare with my collections, I would really appreciate it!
There are a few tools like the one on the photo in the Kunming City Museum. The labelled name is 石锛. My personal view, it is fossilized tool for chopping bean and other food ,because there are some chopped bean on it.
I think some fossilized tools were mis-decided as stone tools. Carefully observing fossilized tools, the characteristics of the original material (bone or wood) can be found. Attaching a picture, it is a coiling board that made of wood. It was twined string, so it bends a little. The original material had flexible characteristic.
Yes, there are bones shaped as tools in Upper Palaeolithic times, which have got fossilized and you may call them fossil tools. I do have some collection from Narmada valley reported in my Current Science articl of December 25, 2012 uploaded in ResearchGate from where you can download the same.
I had replied to this question earlier. I have made collection of the bone tools made by Narmada valley hominin ~70 Kya, which, subsequently got fossilized. You see my 2012 paper uploaded- in RG published in Current Science.
There are reports of fossil wood tools from Tripura by NR Ramesh.Ramesh, N.R. 1986. Discovery of Stone Age tools from Tripura and its relevance to the
prehistory of South East Asia. GEOSEA V Proceedings, Vol. II, Geol. Soc. Malaysia,
fossil fish stamp tool comes from the Green River Shale formation of Wyoming. 50 million years ago the area was covered by a large tropical fresh water lake teaming with an abundance of fish and aquatic life
Thank you very much for the information. I am interesting in the information about a fossilized tool extremely. But our government blocks my accessing to the website. So I cannot open the webpage.
First I apologize for the mistake I have made. I have researched the food samples that I had posted the picture here. The three samples are magnetic. And there are also shining silver medals in the samples. Later I will add the pictures on shining silver metals. Are these meteorites? Hope you could give me some idea.
