The influx of predatory publishers and papers nowadays is at alarming rate with lots of innocent researchers being the victims of such act. This has resulted in bad science! Despite the up-rise in such evil-profiting act to the perpetrators, it seems to me nothing so proactive is being put in place to curb such act. Am I right?

There are no such bodies present at the time the best you can do is to write to WAME, COPE and other national and international bodies like these.
In my knowledge there is no such body who punish predatory journal publishers.

I think it is clear there is no action against predatory publishers. I agree with Mr. Ahmeds that the list of predatory publishers is the tool we all should use to limited the damage from this menace.
I have discussed with a few people to register the emails addresses they use and add them to the spammer list we keep at university level. This way the majority of their emails would not reach the researchers and they would do less harm. So far we have not done this as the work seems to out-weight the trouble the predatory publishers cause.

Some universities make the list of predatory journals available to their Academic staff and also go to the extent of refusing to accept publications in such journals for the promotion of their staff. This is commendable

It is unfortunate there is no such regulatory bodies functioning. But, it is the right time some action should be initiated by policy makers at national level to have such a body to ensure quality scientific publications.
