Some cement firms add 1-3% copper slag as an additive during the manufacture of their cement. They intend to obtain a simple cheap green resource of iron by recycling copper slag. Note that copper slag contains about 60-70% Fe2O3.

Are there negative effects for this use? Compared to OPC, how the following are affected:

1. Fresh properties (workability and setting time)

2. Mechanical properties: Strength and Modulus of elasticity.

3. Durability: Against sulfates and chloride ion penetration.

4. Cracking: Plastic and drying Shrinkage

Thank you
