I am researching on how politicians use accounting financial information in monitoring government in fulfilling its noble responsibility of providing services to the citizen but i am in dilemma which theories are pertinent for the study. Any suggestions please?
I am in dilemma which suits the purpose for the research. I have seen other researchers employed agency theory and accounting usefulness theory to investigate the same phenomena. Therefore, I would like to get views from others so that i may be on the right trajectory.
It's very useful to apply and use the agency theory in explaining various human behaviors
It very correct. Agency theory is on monitoring purposes especially on governance matters. However, when you want to go further like linking corporate governance with society demands/norms it lacks explanatory power in that regard.
