Can we say Decision Support Systems(DSS), Executive Information Systems (EIS), Management Information Systems (MIS) and Business Intelligence(BI) are the same? Also, can we say their purposes in organisations are the same? What about the technologies they use? Lastly, do they use the same data?
They are the same; however, the algorithm for storing, accessing and manipulating them may be distinct.
They are not the same because the technologies each of the system employ as well as the data and the processes for the managing them are different. However, they have one purpose of effectively managing the data of an organization.
