In my anthropological researches I am concerned with names.
I remarked here in the Research Gate, as in the worldly society, that many members have got first names as (Ansar) which make a confusion with the last name, the family name (Ansari).
Are the 2 names family names?
Are there any differencies between the 2 of them?

My question rose when I found names like this (Ansar .....) and the names were names of females.
In Algeria we have no such main names and I didn't see it before this. I was confused.
I fear that , in some countries , the first name (Ansar) is a main name for a female, not a family name.

Ansari is a caste while Ansar is first name..... like my name is MUMTAZ ALI ANSARI and one of my friend name is MOHD. ANSAR

No, both are different. Ansari [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ansari_(surname)] is a Muslim surname, while Ansar (https://quranicnames.com/ansar/) is the first name for Muslim boys.
No, entirely different Ansar were all great people and ansari mixed
