Hi Raji, 

Most difficult part in Indian sign language is not standardized. It has reach set of grammar , rules.   I found many  trainer uses a continuous sign  to represent technical words but those kind of things are yet standardize.

Many people work on Indian sign language   considering finger spell ( Major part ), some attempts on word level and only one or two attempts on continuous sentence level interpretation . My research topic is to recognize continuous sentences of India sign language  .

I am an educator in Computer Science and I usually feel it difficult to spell all the technical terms while teaching. May be if there is a movement to popularise the technical signs, it will be very beneficial in the higher education of deaf.

Finger spelling is of course not a bad thing but if the signs for technical terms are available it will be more useful for both deaf students and their teachers.

In LSB (Brazilian Sign Language), there are some dictionaries for specific purposes, but they aren't many yet.

I heard there is a group at UFMG (Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais)  who are searching for signs about Computer Science, but they haven't published it yet. I may send you a link as soon as they publish it.

At UFSC (Univesidade Federal de Santa Catarina) they made available three glossaries about: 1- Sign Language; 2- Architecture; and 3- Cinema. You can find them at: http://glossario.libras.ufsc.br/

There are a very good dictionary of technical terms in spanish sign language, this have separate little books for each discipline.

Well I am from Brazil and I work as an interpreter of Brazillian Sign Language (BSL). I am used to translate classes of undergraduate on Linguistics. 

Yes. There are many signs for those technical words in BSL and some online dictionary showing them. But as a huge country, some states have different signs. I know that in here people have already done a dictionary in sciences too. :)

I am working on automation of ISL from english to indian signs. The best part of my research is that it is at sentence level. See, how much progress we find in this regard.

A very big problem of ISL is the word order. Anybody, please give some information on word order used in ISL. Also, the grammar rules are also required for this convertion system.

Great to hear from you about working in ISL. I have seen the paper shared by u. The paper is based on ASL where as my work is in ISL. the sentence structure is required for ISL which is definitely based on ISL grammar rules. Can you please share the grammar rules of ISL???

IIT Guwahati was having a project in Indian Sign Language: "Development of an Indian Sign Language Recognition System for Hearing Impaired Students of India". you can look for it. I too have worked with ISL but only for isolated gestures. you can find the database in sites like "http://indiansignlanguage.org/dictionary/"

Thanks yoyeeta singga... I have visited the site Guwahati but did not find any grammar rules. More over,my work is English to Indian sign language animations....

My work is in Chilean Sign language (LSCh). In Chile there is  a secondary School that included   deaf students,  they added specifics terms according within  them. Now it is necessary recording  and include that terms in a dictionary  so the others can know, the estudiants and the interpreter of other schools.  In Uruguay after 20 years of bilingualism educations, now they are beginning to have a recopilations of the specifics terms that the deaf students use. 

@Lalit ,Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Hearing Handicapped, Mumbai has done some research in this area and offering courses in ISL training. There is level A,level B , interpreter course. I passed Level A course. Of course there are definite grammar rules for ISL.It is a complete language with rules and grammar.We have a standardised ISL though many don't know .I would like to know more about your research,if you dont mind.Also do you know about the IIT research project status now?I find the webpage is no more now
