Taurine derivates are widely found in vivo, on the other hand N-methyl taurine derivatives have never been reported in vivo. As anyone ever reported these lipid metabolites in fluids? tissues? N-methyl taurines are used as surfactants in soaps and detergents, though they have been found in gallbladder and intestine of angelfish. Any thoughts on their origin in vivo (skin absorption, diet intaking, biosynthetic pahtways)?
All suggestions are welcome
