An investigation into the meaning of Good work in Nursing across cultures involves the use of an interview protocol (attached) which can be adapted to serve in a particular culture or setting. I am willing to coordinate this study.
In the past, I have interviewed nurses at different stages of professional development, newer nurses and those who had progressed to some level of leadership on a unit or in a region, even internationally (but not necessary). I am interested now in responses to the interview questions across cultures. How do opportunities or supports for good work in nursing (work that is excellent, ethical, and engaging) differ among cultures? What obstacles or challenges do nurses in different cultures experience as they attempt to perform good work? Are there core values that remain similar despite different cultural issues? A few years ago, a colleague from Iran interviewed four nurses and offered a unique perspective of the meaning of good work. Does this help, Amy?
I like the idea of this study, but I have found on a practical level that if I cannot finish any given survey with a nurse in about 5-10 min that this will mean that most of the nurses I approach will not feel comfortable about participation. I think that your survey tool gets at some very good questions, but I think that a carefully abbreviated version might be practically useful in getting a very large amount of foundational data and refining future questions.
I am interesting your work. However, the interview questions are too many, and difficult translate from Japanese to English, and analysis cultural context. If this is quantitative questionnaire, much easy. Although it need translate back translate and gain reliability and validity.
I am interesting, not at least that new nursing research shows that good work according to registered nurses correlate with patient care satisfaction. Hiowever, the questions are far to many for interviews, It is more suitable with a queationnaire. Why not use my questions, kindly see my publication: What Implies the Good Work for Registered Nurses in Municipal Elderly Care in Sweden? Easy to do and easy to compare.

For all those who have replied about interest in doing an international study to investigate qualitatively perceptions of nurses regarding their efforts to perform good work in nursing, please know that I am in consultation with others in the field of GoodWork to modify the Interview Protocol for use in different settings. I would like to hear from those interested in participating in the study.
I will be the Principal Investigator from the US. I will submit a proposal for Ethics Board Review. I will circulate the proposal and participants can use the US proposal to inform the regulations at the respective university settings.
