It is a fact that the citation impact factors of chemistry journals are generally higher than those of chemical engineering journals (if compared rank by rank in the Web of Science Database), but I would NOT draw a conclusion that chemistry journals are better than chemical engineering journals.

On the other hand, review articles are 5~10 times more likely to be cited than original research articles in the literature, but you will agree with me that Nobel Prize winners are credited for their original research publications, not their review articles (or some of them never write review articles).

Thus, why authors like you and me are so interested to publish in high impact factor journals?
