i am not very expert on apdl, but still learning to use it. However, based on my knowledge, when you built the model using gui, it translated it to script in log file. You can look at the log file in saved in the working directory. The generated scripts is quite 'messy' since it recorded every response during working with gui, but for first learning purpose, it will give you an idea how the command works.

The structure in apdl coding consists;

/prep7 - pre-processor( modelling, material properties, meshing)

/solu - solution part - (apply boundary condition, analysis type, analysis setting)

/post1 - postprocessing - (view results,plotting graph....etc)

The manual already discussing about the steps on how to do analysis using apdl. It can be assessed using software manual or sharcnet website;
