Transformation is an agrarian process. It has been changing due to various reasons such as modernization, adaptations, climate change, social change, technical change and so on. The process may be change from country to country.
Transformation agriculture is the conversion of intensive/conventional farming systems to agroecosystems. The theories and practices of agroecology assist farmers and land managers in this transformation and a vast body of literature is available to learn what has been achieved. The paper here attached may be (I hope) a good starting point.
