I would like to study effect of toxic on the chlorophyll of marine algal, some article reported that chlorophyll is suppressed by toxic which give the future effect to the plant. Unfortunately, I dont have fluorometer here and the amount of my sample are limited, almost impossible for me to extract the chlorophyll
I would like to using the fluorescent microscope to analyses the autofluorescence of chlorophyll and compare the intensity of excitation of chlorophyll. The problem is I dont found any article about that method, any one have experienced using fluorescent microscope to check the suppressing chlorophyll by toxicant ?

Hi, do you have a reproducible inhibition of chlorophyll fluorescence by a special toxic agens? You will need reference values. Maybe I did not get enough details from your description: You want to quantify depression of photosynthesis? Of chlorphyll degradation? Algal damage by toxic substance? I do NOT recommend to measure quantitatively chlorophyll "damage" from a fluorescence-micrograph. Good luck!
@Annette Brandt. Thank you so much for the reply. I will study the effect of heavy metal on germination of spore. Many article reported that the heavy metal could suppressed the chlorophyll so slowdown the germination or the growth of spore since the chlorophyll need for the plant. So i can compere the intensity of chlorophyll between level using fluorescent microscope. Sorry, what reference value do I need.
