I have granitoid samples with biotite and hornblende as the main mafic minerals. Within these granitoids are dark enclaves which have the same constituents of mafic minerals with the only exception being that the enclaves have much higher modal abundances of biotite and hornblende. Is there any way i can establish a relationship between the enclaves and the granitoids through trace element geochemistry??

Thanks for your contribution Dr. Leonid and Dr. Rahil. I did some major element bivariate plots and both groups follow the same trend and so I concluded that they are related. However, the enclaves occur as deformed, folded layers with ellipsoidal, occasionally rounded shapes. Can I conclude based on this field relations and the geochemistry that the enclaves are probably remnants of the mafic protolith???

Thanks for your contribution Dr. Shumlyanskyy and Dr. Costa-de-Moura which was very elemental in my research work. I actually classified the rocks collectively as granitoid gneisses for my M.Phil thesis. But I wanted to know which of the isotope systematics I can use to verify if they are geochemically related??
