1*- w wyniku błędnej interpretacji taksonomicznej B. PISARSKI (1975) [Mrówki Formicoidea. Katalog fauny Polski (nr 23), 26, 1, 85 pp.] użył niewłaściwego synonimu, jako nazwy priorytetowej. Od tego czasu w większości krajowego piśmiennictwa myrmekologicznego gatunek ten występuje pod nazwą M. laevinodis.

2*- PISARSKI (1975) błędnie przydał temu gatunkowi nazwę M. rubra, która praktycznie nie przyjęła się w piśmiennictwie.

3*- wykazany w 1997 r. na podstawie jednego gniazda z okolicy Orzeszkowa; leg. et det. W. CZECHOWSKI.

4*- każda mrówka z rodzaju Stenamma WESTW. Europy Północnej i Środkowej była do niedawna oznaczana jako S. westwoodi. Rewizja rodzaju przeprowadzona w 1993 r. ograniczyła zasięg tego gatunku do Anglii, Walii i Belgii, a gatunkiem występującym na reszcie obszaru okazała się S. debile, wcześniej uważana za młodszy synonim S. westwoodi.

5*- gatunek do niedawna nie odróżniany do bliźniaczego gatunku L. niger.

6*- w piśmiennictwie znany głównie pod nazwą F. picea.

7*- wykazany w 1992 r. na podstawie jednego gniazda z okolic Topiła, jako gatunek nowy dla Polski; leg. W. CZECHOWSKI, det. A. RADCHENKO. Do niedawna uchodził za podgatunek F. cunicularia.

Letters P - recorded in Polish part of the Forest, B - in Belarussian part of the forest. Numbers in parentheses cite literature source of the record.

W Polsce wiarygodnie stwierdzono ok. 100, a w Białorusi 55 gatunków mrówek. Poznana dotychczas myrmekofauna całej PB liczy 44 gatunki, z których 43 wykazano w polskiej, a 19 w białoruskiej części. Gatunki znalezione w polskiej części PB stanowią ok. 45% ogólnej liczby krajowych gatunków mrówek, żyjących w wolnej przyrodzie; do pomyślenia jest jeszcze wykazanie stąd co najwyżej 5 gatunków. Myrmekofauna białoruskiej części PB jest praktycznie nierozpoznana.

You are right, non-grey literature on ants from Central Europe is surprisingly rare. There has been a little bit done on canopy ants by Andreas Floren and coworkers. Maybe this is also useful for you despite your study focuses on litter ants?
