Sea water temperature
Dear all,
I am developing a model with the aim of studying part-load performance of OTEC plant influenced by seawater temperature change.
I would like to have seawater temperature time series (i.e. hourly time steps) of a suitable location for OTEC plant (measured at surface and at typical depth of 600 m -900 m) .
Anyone can help me?

Hi Andrea,
I worked in 2008 on high-resolution automatic measurements coming from in situ buoys managed by the IFREMER institute (France).
As it seems the only operating OTEC station is on Kume island, I would recommand that you look for buoys in this region.
For example, there is data from the Japan meteorological agency for drifting buoys:

However, I don't think depth measurements would be achievable at hourly resolution.

I agree with Alex. Because of the enormous inertia of the sea, hourly variations in temperature would be negligible. Perhaps seasonal variations?
The temperature doesn't change drastically in depth more than 600 m. You can refer to this
