I reared these as a kid and the oothecae take up to 10 months to hatch!!

Yes, there are complete life histories available for most species, including Stagmomantis wheelerii (S. californica is considered a junior synonym). Nymphs will emerge within 1 month unless ootheca is exposed to the cold of winter, which will evoke a 3-4 month diapause.
