Can I ask the meaning of these numbers? These are some results of our ongoing product. Thank you so much. The lab said that we needed expert to read this kind of evaluation but any help will do. Thanks.
The results listed in the Laboratory Test Report say that your product has 10 yeasts and molds in one gram of product and that Escherichia coli was not detected in 1 gram of product.
The abbreviation CFU stands for colony forming unit and the abbreviation MPN stands for Most Probable Number.
Methods are those of FDA BAM https://www.fda.gov/food/laboratory-methods-food/bacteriological-analytical-manual-bam
Assume this is a food item that has a low yeast/mold and E. coli count.
As Vit Mateju said cfu is colony forming units and MPN is most probable number - "1.1" is an estimate based on statistical anaylsis of none detected per protocol.
The presence of yeast in wine is quite normal because yeasts are microorganisms that ferment wine and produce alcohol in it. 10 yeasts and molds in 1 gram of wine are perfectly OK.
