I have seen this week a 9-year old girl who have a clitoral enlargement resembling penis because of congenital adrenal hyperatrophy.I remembered the practice of female circumcision in africa. My females needs more than circumcision, but it came to my mind that African girls may have significant clitoral enlargement that could pathological and scientifically need treatment like resecting something.

Pathological and syndromic clitoral enlargement is different issues and only only manage by surgery as the pathology is running, I think it is part of the management, even it needed it should be done by expert surgeon with consent and after counselling aims certain purpose and with neglectable morbidity.
Enalrgement of body ograns everywhere is not only for clitoris and as well not only african specially the sexual organs.
FGM mostly and always includes the vulva means the labias and not only the clitoris.
Now in some medical centres the is some practice for vulvoplasty some time for keloids after piercing or very large and big labias for some reason or other.
FGM is completely different is traditional practice for cutting thr genitalia for non medical cause,,,,, based on this we can see where we are in any case that may see.
