Good Conferences gives you an opportunity to present your Ideas, and you can get a lot of suggestions from peer researchers. you can get some ideas to move forward your research work. More over you can interact with a lot of researchers working in your field.
Amin - their are several advantages compared to the 'traditional' dissemination forum of published articles. In my experience these are:
1. Research 'in-action' can be disseminated. This can be either 'in process' results i.e. at the data collection/analysis phase with early findings and/or just completed projects that may or may not be going through the lengthier process of submission to journals.
2. Conferences are face-to-face and allows the audience to interact and ask questions of the research. This can assist the researchers in having their work examined and possible areas that they might not have considered.
3. Networking is an important feature. Those already interested in and/or working in the topic discipline are most likely to attend and most likely to approach the presenters afterwards for discussion and potential collaboration.
4. There is often a 'social' context to conferences - especially international ones. There is the opportunity to travel and witness new cultures.
There are many conferences organizing days in and days out. However, the peer reviewed international conferences are the best. From my point of view, conference papers are valuable.
It is the conference papers which inculcates new ideas for research on a particular problem/topic where the subject content appears as the solution of a real time problem in the industry which is producing for the mankind. It is well know that, actual solution of the problem pertaining to an industry is far from ideal nature of the experimental results obtained in a laboratory.
It gives you an opportunity to talk directly to other scientists interested in you project. An exchange of ideas can only be beneficial to your present work. Last but not least it is a good way to meet prospective postdocs and/ or to start new joint projects with other scientists
