I hope you are doing well. I want to link MATLAB and ref prop software. For the pure mixture, link works well. But when I want to calculate the mixture of ammonia and water the following error is shown:

[SETUP error 101] error in opening file for component #-22; filename = (C:\Program Files (x86)\REFPROP\fluids\c12.fld).
I have tried many times until not 4:00 AM in my country but I cannot solve this problem. Also, I tried the link between EES and MATLAB but I am no succeeded in this regard too. Because I want optimize the cycle in my research.

A surprising number of people on RG have tried to link Refprop to MATLAB with varying success. The more complex features (like user-defined mixtures) seem to be rather problematic. As you have already experienced, this can consume a lot of time and effort without much net progress to show for it. A more efficient path might be to use Refprop to generate a table of property values covering the necessary range of operating parameters and then use multivariate regression to build a UDF, which is much more straightforward to implement and faster too. You may also be able to optimize a cycle (such as absorption refrigeration) entirely within Excel and eliminate Refprop and MATLAB altogether.

This error indicates that this particular mixture with the specified temperature and pressure is not in the software data
Siamak Hoseinzadeh It exists but I do not know why for every mixture I encounter an error.
I didn't get your point.
I think the ref prop didn't install correctly or the error is from that side.
I can send you the ref prop to try it.
I think my version is not complete since in the help menu said this software is capable of calcluate mixture properties. If you have the right version please send me to Siamak Hoseinzadeh thank you.

Which version of REFPROP are you trying? REFPROP V9.1 or REFPROP mini?
