I want to design a prototype Ablation catheter for some research work. Does, anyone has any good book, link or any other good source for ablation catheter design. It should cover all the aspects, like, mechanical, electronics and cabling.
That is going to be impossible because no such books exist in the context you want. The only thing that might be helpful is to look up the patents from Biosense-Webster and Boston-Scientific to see what they were thinking.
Did you have a particular novel feature in mind?
You should probably know that we are in a period of wherein a very big paradigm shift is about to take place since the advent of pulsed-field ablation. It is also known as electroporation but that really only refers to the mechanism of irreversible cell damage.
Radiofrequency current and the cryoballoon are going to be extinct in the next 10 years, I predict. I could be wrong but I have no doubt that when PFA is approved for use by the FDA, katie bar the door.
Kriegh Moulton Thanks for your answer. BW and BS patents are indeed really helpful, and I think, I read almost all of them. We already finished the design of the catheter and sheath. And I propose some novel features in mechanical design of catheter. It was a work for a Chinese biomedical firm. Anyhow, now thankfully, I know all of the science behind the ablation catheters.
Chinese market is very young in this field, and this field has a very great potentials in China.
Your concern about PFA might be right, but even for PFA we need catheter, of course there will be some changes in the design of the catheter but most of the main features will be there. Like, electrodes for mapping/Transmitting high voltage pulses, pressure sensor, and Impedance measurement.
I have few things in my mind but its not specifically about catheter itself, I am working on the design of complete system (from mapping to ablation). Now, I am working on mapping system, hopefully I will finished the mapping system this year.
Last time, I designed a Nano Pulse generator circuit, but I did not try it for PFA it was for Nano particle detection.
Surely, by now, you looked up Sterotaxis on the internet. If I was the CEO of Meio Medical, if you are even still involved there, I would frown upon your reaching out to Research Gate for answers to questions your company may aleady know.
Kriegh Moulton I ignored your useless comments several time, but let me say, first you are not the CEO, and the second thing is, from your comments I can suggest you that it is better to spend time with your grandchild or any old age center.
