Greatings all,
I am currently modeling a tube impacting a plane. I am running a Dynamic explicit analysis with two deformable bodies. The problem is in 2D hence I have to use the surface to surface contact algorithm. I have requested several contact variables such as contact pressure and contact forces however I get a value of zero for both.
Abaqus does aknowledge the contact as the reaction forces are not zero znd there is no penetration of the two bodies. I have tried to mesh my parts finer but it doesn't change anything.
I would be greatful for any help.

Heli Liu I did extract the step where the Impact is but there is still no contact pressure or contact force.
Dimitris Dimitriou I used a surface-to-surface interaction with a normal behavior set as "hard" and a tangential behvavior set as penalty with a friction coefficient of 0.3.

It's ok Pascal Louineau dont worry! Unfortunately, I cant understand what the problem is in this case. Do you have contact between the bodies throughout the whole analysis?
Dimitris Dimitriou The simulation is an impact. Hence there is only contact for a short moment.

I have figured out my issue. As the simulation is an impact, the impact time is very short. This must be taken into account if one wants a correct ODB output. By setting a high frequency in the OBD output, i was able to get the needed results.
In my case I used 1500 points to get a constant value of contact pressure.
