I have a one question about my study to the exploration geologists;
There are two methods in hydrogeochemical uranium explorations one of them is U/EC ratio and other is U concentration. Both of these parameters are using with anomaly contrast and mean+2*stdeviation(treshold value). And I am trying to find a new parameter in addition to these two parameters.
My question is;
How can I test the accuracy of the my new proposal. I have two datasets belongs uranium fields in Turkey also have any other publications. I think
for comparing, apply this known two methods to the datasets to find anomalous zones/samples and apply my suggestion. The last step is adaption of this informations with geology knowledge of field.
Am I wrong ? Is there any fault in my idea ?
Hello, for the search - exploration of uranium there are several methods, almost all related to radiometric surveys. In addition, several criteria are used for the location of possible anomalies and almost never, the results of the individual channels offer the best results. For this purpose, the so-called "complex indices" have been designed, which in general improve the interpretation process.
Thank you for your reply Mr Rodriguez. I got it but I am working on hydrogeochemical surveys of datas on uranium explorations. As I said evaluation by U concentration and U/EC ratio used before and I developed new parameter for hydrogeochemical explorations. and compared it these two parameters. results are positive, Yes you are right most common exploration methods are radiometric and soil gas techniques but I think when geochemical methods and hydrochemical methods combined in are constricted in geochemical anomaly map used with saturation indices, it is going to be most exact possibility to find ore body.
Uranium isotopic composition of groundwater is the best method as far as i know in order to locate uranium ore body in deep groundwater aquifer. Uranium concentration alone is not indicative as it could be high in the more oxidized part of the aquifer reflecting uranium release from the rock matrix and could be low in the deeper part reflecting uranium reduction, precipitation and or adsorption. You may compare your proposed method with previous published uranium isotopic composition of groundwater, if any. Willing to see your method published, best wishes for your approach.
Thank you very much Mr. Dawood. There's no way a wide range of isotopic study in Turkey. I am also unemployed(have no money for analysisses :( ) so my suggestion is like a review study. But I really want to study Uranium isotopes.
