1. like for hydrocarbon exploration - time integrated radon measurement is done.

2. to measure the concentration of radon in water well - continuous radon monitoring is done.

I want to know in which situation which technique will be suitable?

For earthquake prediction different technique is used. The selection of the technique is based on which parameter? It will be helpful if you share articles or reading materials in support of this. Thanks.
