The heat transfer rate and fluid surface tension, as far as I am aware, have a connection. In a heat transfer fluid, nanoparticles increase surface energy (HTF). As a result, surface tension should rise. Heat transfer rate is also enhanced by nanoparticles. But what function does surface tension play in nanofluids? Does increasing fluid surface tension promote heat transfer?
