What is the difference between the thermal conductivity calculated by Kubo-Greenwood formula and Boltzamnn equation through ab initio calculaions?

For calculating the thermal conductivity, the Kubo-Greenwood formula or the Boltzmann equation can be used. Then what is the applicability and advantage/disadvantage of these two methods?
