I prepared 8-formyl-7-hydroxy-4-methyl coumarin by duff reaction. recrystallisation of pdt with ethanol is giving sticky compound.is it pure?

It is from 7-hydroxy-4-methyl coumarin with HMTA in dil acetic acid at 90 degrees for 6 hrs and hydrolysed with 20% HCl, kept for 30 min. cooled overnight and extracted with ether.
