Why sensory conduction velocity is higher than motor conduction velocity even though motor nerve A alpha conducts faster rate than A BETA ?

IS IT BECAUSE of for the motor nerve average latency is taken and for sensory nerve fastest latency is taken. is it beacuse of the internodal distance and electrode placement in finding velocity
