Why the phosphorus release varies from activated sludge by adjusted to pH 5 with hydrochloric acid and pH adjusted with bubbling with air?

Phosphorus release higher when pH adjusted with HCl acid at pH5 but Phosphorus release less when pH adjusted with bubbling air though the pH5.
