Greetings. Is there a method for estimating carbohydrates in cyanobacteria which do not uses an acid hydrolysis step or running a column?

Both phenol-sulphuric acid and anthrone method uses a acid hydrolysis step which I really want to avoid due to safety issues. Can anyone help me with this?
