Why roots of Arabidopsis halleri are growing outside of the soil?

I observed this pattern of growth for A. halleri in contaminated soil with some amendments. Usually rosettes are on the surface, what can be the reason of for this pattern of growth? Can it be fixed?

I am using Spectragryph V1.2.15 to visualize FTIR Spectra. But it is showing values in "nm" on x-axis. When i chose the "wavenumber(1/cm)" instead of "nm", it changes the range to 16000-25000....

What is the effect of BPA exposure for different duration on beta oxidation?

In a BPA exposed animal model of 4 weeks, B-oxidation was decreased. Whereas the model with 8 weeks of exposure showed increased B-oxidation. What could be the reason for this difference?
