Is there any possibility of getting a numerical scheme for the solution of first order linear advection equation which is less dissipative than FTBS?

And also the scheme should be first order accurate and it should not produce spurious oscillations in any case. The advection equation has positive wave speed.

Is there any algebraic function y=f(x) which is symmetric about y-axis, has value=0 and slope=(+-)1 at x=0?

The function reaches asymptotically to slope=0 as x goes away form zero.
