Is there any efficient and highly accurate method to compute Ewald summation of magnetic dipole-dipole interaction in systems with 2D periodicity?

does the usual Ewald sum works also in 3D materials with 2D periodicity? If not, is there any other method to compute dipole-dipole interaction in such systems with high accuracy?
