I have synthesized ZnS nanoparticles ranging from 2 nm to 5 nm. These are cubic, confirmed by xrd. I have observed that size of particles increases up to 3% doping of Ni and then it decreases....

ZnS doped with Ni, should band gap increase or decrease with respect to pure ZnS?

Some papers have reported that band gap of ZnS increases with addition of doping element Ni. But in my experiment Band gap is decreasing. I am confused about the findings. Any inputs please.
