I am interested to develop nanocrystalline cellulose based edible packaging.In such case, which type of packaging would be ideal, film or coating?

As part of my thesis, I am interested to develop nano-crystalline cellulose based edible antimicrobial packaging. In such case, would an edible coating or an edible film be ideal?
