Why the Poly dispersity Index (PDI) for the polymers is sometimes higher than 2.0?

Within the Gell Permeation Chromatography (GPC), sometimes the PDI is going higher than 2.0. Where it should be between 1.0 and 2.0. What is the reason behind this phenomenon?
