How can I prepare Brewers Yeast suspension 20% in NS and inject subcutaneously in rats? What is the size of needle use?

I cannot inject using 22G needle without filtering the suspension. After filtering and injecting 15ml/kg to the rats, after 18hours, the rats are not feverish. Can anyone give me answers??
