Is there difference between MayGrunwald-Gimsa staining and only Gimsa staining?

Hi Everybody, I have to stain rat's bone marrow smears with MayGrunwald-Gimsa, i am asking if it enough to stain them only with Gimsa? has anybody experience with this issue? thanks
