Why is absorbance at 260 nm decreasing when I add the enzyme Dnase to DNA?

The idea was that Dnase cleavs the DNA which should make the absorbance increase. I follow this assay http://www.worthington-biochem.com/dnase/assay.html  and use 6.25mM MgSO4, 1M acetate buffer...
