How can we explain the warping and shrinkage that occurs in thermoplastics such as PP when subjected to heating and subsequent cooling processes?

I am studying the warping phenomenon that polypropylene undergoes in additive manufacturing (3d printing) and I need a book or paper to refer to and get more information from.
