Is there any operator in Banach space that will correspond to Adjoint operator in Hilbert space?

Let H be a Hilbert space and A: H---->H, be a bounded and linear operator, define a mapping A* : H--->H by the relation =, for all x,y in H. Then the mapping A* is called the adjoint of A.
