Injected varying CT26 cells to female balb/c mice. Tumor growth observed in first week later regressed, pus formation in few animals. Kindly suggest

what are the reason for regression? Why pus formation ? Enlight on other reason, importance of Quality of cells, pathogen free  animals, mycoplasma..etc
