Case C-240/17 E, interpretation of art. 25.2 of Schengen Agreement, what happened to Mr E?

Does anyone know what eventually happened to Mr E after the judgment of the ECJ on 16 January 2018 and in view of the fact that his residence permit in Spain was valid only until 11 February 2018?
