What is the average thickness of the native oxide growing on a typical commercially available silicon wafer?

I need to get an idea of how thick the native oxide is on a silicon wafer (100) that is kept at room temperature. The wafer has not been treated or cleaned in anyway.

Are FDFD or FDTD methods better for simulating the electromagnetic field and or optical intensity around or within a single nanostructure?

I would like to start this type of modeling and I found that some researchers use FDFD or FDTD for the same type of work. Are there benefits of one method over the other?
