Suggestions on how to simulate a wireless sensor network in NS 2 and MATLAB?

Please anyone with useful suggestions or steps to simulate a wireless sensor network (WSN) in MATLAB and NS 2 simulation environment. Will be grateful to get a feedback. thanks
